6/25-6/29 and 7/2-7/6 – The 42nd annual Smithsonian Folklife Festival on the national mall is is an extravaganza of food, dance, art and tradition. This year celebrates Texas, the Himalayan kingdom of Bhutan and NASA, which turns 50 this year. The festival runs daily from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m with concerts and dances beginning at 6.
